Parent Council (contact at email@example.com)
St Cyrus Primary School has a strong, enthusiastic Parent Council who work hard to support the school and fundraise throughout the year to support school trips, etc. We run a very successful annual Christmas Shopping event which is our main fundraiser of the year and hold other smaller fundraisers throughout the year. All profits from fundraising benefits pupils from Nursery to P7.
Our Committee is made up from a group of parents and we meet at least once every term. A copy of the minutes from our meetings are available in the school reception for all interested parents to read and we send home regular newsletters keeping parents up to date with our plans and news. Our AGM for session 2017/18 was held on 6th Sept 2017.
The aim of Parent Council is to work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive to all parents and to support the school in its work with pupils. We aim to promote partnership between the school, its pupils and parents and to encourage links between the school, parents, pupils, pre-school groups and the wider community. We also identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of pupils.
